Oshiomhole Campaign Organisation Warns on Rigging

Election riggers in Edo State have been warned against perpetrating the illegal act during the forthcoming governorship election in the state scheduled for July 14. The Oshiomhole Campaign Organisation, which gave the warning yesterday advised political parties participating in the governorship election to avoid rigging and subversion of the people’s wish or face the wrath of the people right there on the spot.

The campaign Director of Media and Publicity of the organisation, Prince Kassim Afegbua, who issued the warning during an interaction with journalists, said what should occupy the minds of the ordinary voters was how to exercise their franchise without let or hindrance. “We have been inundated with series of calls and concerns being expressed by stakeholders on the forthcoming election, and the thickening plot by the opposition People’s Democratic Party to rig the election.

We are familiar with their stock in trade and we make bold to declare without equivocation that we will resist every attempt to undo the electorate. Anybody who tries to rig will be dealt with right there on the spot,” Afegbua declared. Speaking further on the new list of the National Campaign Committee of the PDP on Edo Election, Afegbua noted that the PDP has the right to choose whoever it desires to, but that it does not have the right to rig the election. “When you see a failing project, you know the signs from day one.

From what the PDP has exemplified from its national office, it is obvious that they are aware that their candidate has no chance. They want to import spent forces into the State and help their failed candidate that is their business. As far as we are concerned, they cannot manufacture voters from Abuja. If they try to manufacture voters, they will meet their waterloo,” he said.
